Now I am not sayin’ you have a Bert-like monobrow, but we do need to brush up on eyebrows today. {alli slaps her knee.} LOL, brush up, get it? *rimshot* Ahem, um, sorry, I thought it was funny. {blush}
Ladies, can we talk? {waves you in closer} Do you get your eyebrows done? You should. Honestly, it’s worth it. I had to admit to myself that paying that $12 every eight weeks was more than worth it.
There are some common eyebrow FAILS we need to be aware of. The above monobrow…
the bushy brow and…
…dreaded clashing brows.
Now I am sure that the beautiful Friends of Fussy do not have any of these eyebrow issues. I just wanted to share with you the main reason I have my eyebrows waxed.
The little tiny stray hairs, even when invisible, can make your eyeshadow look yucky. After the skin has been waxed it has such a smooth base for a pretty bone/ivory eyeshadow right below your brow. It opens up the eyes and looks so nice.
OK, some of you are worried about it hurting. I think plucking out the little hairs by myself hurts way worse! Just take some motrin and have a professional do it.
Just for fun, I added this super handy little video on determining your eyebrow shape. I love videos!

I’ve only had my eyebrows “threaded” and I pluck the rouge hairs in between sessions. I really like the precision that they’re able to achieve. It does hurt, but I don’t know what it feels like to be waxed so I don’t know if that’s worse.
I used to have some really wild eyebrows. Some simple brow maintenance really goes a long way!
Here’s my post on fighting the frump this week. It’s about updating your style while pregnant.

I agree! I bought my own wax system kit thing (ha!) like the salons have. It’s saving me a fortune and I’m hair free!
This is one I always fail. I hate plucking – it hurts. And I am lucky to get a haircut let alone making an appointment for someone to tame my brows. (Yes, there are 2.) Sigh…I guess it has never been high on my list.

I’m a huge advocate. It’s the one thing women can do for such a little amount of money. In addition, get those lips waxed, not bleached…we can still see the hair. Wax that bad boy! I do.
I used to have my eyebrows waxed and then someone told me it was bad for you to have it done. Now I pluck, ouch!

Epic Eyebrow Fail. I loved that. That could be it’s own website girl.
ok… tomorrow I go for a wax!
I am a waxer/plucker in the in-between times – can’t let those suckers get out of control!
I wax every 6 weeks and pluck inbetween. I come from a very hairy family so my maintenance might be a bit more than others. Thing 1 currently has a unibrow. I have told him that one of these days I am going to tie him down and pluck until there is two brows not one. He just looks at me like I am crazy.
Whether you pluck or wax, this product is AMAZING! You will get faster and faster at using it and it is wonderful for day-to-day maintenance!

I’m at the age where you need to have pros do your eyebrows because if you ‘make a mistake’ they might not grow back and you’re stuck.
LOL–I’ve been needing to get mine done since we moved. I normally pluck in between, but they’ve gotten away from me, and I need to go get them taken care of BADLY. But add in financial woes, moving out of state to the country and not knowing who to trust with my eyebrows around here (I’ve not had my haircut in 7 mos now–insert embarrassed blush)…not to mention finding someone to watch the 5 dc while I go..ugh. Its so time consuming to do that last part that I honestly don’t do it if I can’t get it done in 30 min or less–and since it takes me 20 min to get anywhere near someone who can wax at all, much less with precision…SIGH.
Thanks for the reminder though…I needed it..
I don’t get mine waxed as often as I should, that is for sure. But, I do try to pluck when I can. Boy, we go through a lot to Fight the Frump!!

I’m a faithful visitor of the salon for eyebrow waxing. In my opinion, a good wax can make all the difference: opening your eyes, cleaning up your face and even letting you get away with not wearing make up when it’s six am and you need to make an emergency milk run before your kids wake up and your shower. Really, it’s that important. So, I have to say these tips about it though.
1. Make sure you go to someone good. Ask around. Ask that stranger in the check out aisle where she gets hers done. Ask the girls at the front of the salon. Because a bad wax is almost (not quite) as bad as no wax.
2. Be sure to tell the technician what you want. Looking for high society thin eyebrows? More into the natural looking lines? Want something versatile? Trust me, they can do it all.
3. If the technician makes you sit up or “slouch” run away! Your technician should have you lie down. Your face will be the most relaxed and give the tech a good idea how your brows lie naturally.
4. Check the results. If you need a little more taken off, see strays or notice a troublesome unevenness, speak up. It’s likely they can fix it and if they don’t offer you a mirror in the first place it’s a bad sign.
If you’ve never had them waxed, relax. Take a friend. Go together. Trust me, it’s not that big a deal and you’ll be so happy with the results it will shock you that you’ve never done it before.
I’ve never had my eyebrows done… and I’m beginning to wonder if I should… Hmmm…
I HAVE to get myne waxed. If I pluck, I sneeze between every tweeze. Pluck. ACHOOO! Pluck. ACHOOO! *shakes head*
DEFINITELY an advocate of getting the eyebrows waxed! Great post!!
Been getting my eyebrows waxed every four weeks for the last 10 years. When I first started going my mom fretted that my brows would never come back. They’re still growing in just as bushy!
I’m not a mani/pedi girl. I save up for my monthly splurge. I choose a salon close to my house since I go often, and I always ask for my brows to be trimmed as well.
My tip? Never, ever go to a cheap nail salon where they do you brows at your chair. Other than that– look forward to feeling like a whole new you every time you go. Seriously, nothing makes me feel more beautiful than an eyebrow wax!
I haven’t participated in fight the frump in awhile and I added my post late this week, but I’m trying to keep up with National Blog Posting Month.
I’ll be participating in November and if I get a real groove going I’ll keep it up!
My eyebrows are bushy. I shape them, but they are still pretty thick. I kind of like them that way. A makeup artist that did our stage makeup for a ballet one year wanted to pluck mine off! I refused. As long as they are shapely and I don’t have a unibrow, I’m OK with myself.
Love, Love, Love having my eyebrows waxed. 1, 2,3 rip and it’s over all done, nice pretty brows. I tried threading, ONCE, I will never do it again. It was like torture and took forever. I am definitely a waxing girl.
