I have worn one fragrance since high school. Sure, I strayed here and there over the years, but my longtime love is….
Beautiful from Estee Lauder
I have about 6 hundred perfumes and lotions that have been tried and now hide in my cabinet.
Like the classic pearl necklace, a crisp white shirt or a perfect pair of black boots- I am a lover of the classics.
I wanted to hear from you today. What are your classics? What are your signature items?
Tell us all how you rawk your look.
xoxo, alli

This is just depressing. My signature piece? Black stretch pants. Pathetic. And now I’m depressed.
I have no signature. How boring. I am not been faithful to one fragrance, through the years, either. I have found one that I have used for a couple of years. My husband loves it, and I guess that is the point with perfume. Right? It is Dior Pure Poison. It sounds more toxic than it is. Hubby loves it and I like it, too.
Have a great weekend, Mrs. Fussypants. Cross your fingers. I am going to talk with hubby about a trip I want to take, in February, to Nashville. Hummm…. could that be BLISSDOM 2009! I would love to attend. I was so jealous when I missed the first Blissdom! But, money is tight and that is a little bit of a trek, from Texas to Nashville. I am praying about it and hoping!
Signature style? lounge/pj pants and uncombed hair.
I do have a signature winter scent: Burberry and summer scent: Clinique Happy
That is one thing I like about Beautiful – it can be worn year round.
BTW, I LOVE your new look. The new Mrs. Fussypants site looks awesome. Great job! Congrats!
My classics are dark boot-cut jeans with a bit of stretch, pumps, cardigan sweaters and Prada Milano fragrance.
Windsong anyone? I’ve been bathing in it for years!
Oh I’m a perfume whore too!! I can’t leave the house with out putting it on – even if I’m just picking up #2 from school.- right now my fav’s are Paris Hilton and Calvin Klein’s Euphoria – but I have ooodles of B&BW and VS body sprays and lotions!
Oh, and that goes for lipstick and gloss too – EVERY time I walk out the door I MUST put some on!

I have a signature color- orange. Not Vols orange, just generic orange. Because I look awesome in it and it just appeals to me. My cell phone is orange, my backpack has orange accents, and I had a lot or orange in my wardrobe until I got pregnant. Not enough maternity clothes come in orange.
Hmm. I don’t do perfume on a regular basis, but my daughter is asking for Nina by Nina Ricci this year for Christmas and omgoodness it does smell awesome! I might be starting a new trend wearing that, too.
Being a manicurist (unemployed at the moment, wah) I always wear polish..if nothing else, clear well manicured nails. but my toes always have polish!
My signature scent for the past 15 or 20 years has been Jessica McClintock. Love it. But I couldn’t wear it while pregnant (pregnant nose couldn’t handle anything scented…not even my unscented face cream because it has a faint odor). I’ve worn it a couple of times since having the baby but the baby doesn’t seem to be a fan of me wearing perfume (everyone is a critic).
I used to have a signature lipstick but they stopped making it and I have essentially stopped wearing lipstick anyway.
Signature style? Flipflops and a ponytail? How boring am I?
My scent however is Pleasures.
My red Frye harness boots. I wrote a post recently on Beautiful perfume. I wore it all through college and just stopped to sniff in Macy’s this week. I don’t wear perfume much anymore, but this really takes me back!
{scribbling notes}
Now I have new ideas!
thanks y’all!
I love that scent – must put it on my Christmas list for hubs!
My signature piece is almost always my black high heel boots. They look good dressy or casual. Except, you know, at the beach. Then they’d look silly.
My signature look back in the day was boot cut jeans, a baby tee, and a open button up short sleeve shirt with black high heeled boots. AH- the memories. Sadly, the only change to my current signature look is I only wear one shirt at a time now. I also have a signature scent, Pink Suede from Avon (I know- what a cheapskate!) But that scent is discontinued… so I am currently in search of a new scent…
Oh hon, I wish like crazy I could wear perfume, but I’m allergic. Seriously, puffy, watering eyes, sneezing, tight throat. It’s bad. If I could wear perfume, Estee Lauder’s “Pleasure” would be my choice.
As for signature pieces, I’m a casual girl but I have my items that will never leave my closet. Brown, heeled tall boots; cashmere/wool socks; dark wash, bootcut jeans (levi’s, please); my very expensive, very worth it black wrap dress; a red bead necklace handed down from my grandmother; my winter-white mod overcoat; my bracelet-band Fossil watch and cotton cami’s layed under everything. However, the most signiture pieces I have aren’t in my closet. Mid-back length hair in my natural light brown color, my long tall person (6 feet tall), and green eyes. All gifts from my parents.
Beautifully fitted jeans with a turtleneck sweater and blazer. I have been wearing this look for years and years and always get compliments. The style goes in and out and I just stick with it. I probably have 25 blazers.
I’m starting to really enjoy wearing a nice trench coat. Thank goodness for me that I found one at Kohls for only $30!
That is my perfume too. I love it.
That and L’oreal Voluminous Mascara. My two staples for the last… oh 11 or 12 years
Pearls and Beautiful — I’m right there with you.
well this is depressing – the only thing I can think of is my fleece lined mammoth crocs. I am so frumpy, it’s not even funny.
I’ve worn Happy forever but got Chloe in BlogHer swag this year and LOVE it! It’s now me. : ) I usually have earrings or a necklace or a pair of shoes each season that become the signature thing that I work into most outfits.

Oohh…I wore Beautiful through HS and College and LOVED it. My signature scent for the past five years or so has been Chanel No. 5, another classic.
I wore no perfume for years but now I rock Mary Kay’s Bella Belara. I love it! My other signature is facial highlighting powder! I love that extra glow it gives me. I am a total makeup whore. I am nearly always made up!

Purple. Is it bad that the hygenist at the dentist yesterday commented that I had on a purple sweater, purple coat, and purple and silver tennis shoes?
Signature scent: Romance by Ralph Lauren. Signature look: black top (usually a sweater), charcoal grey or chocolate brown slacks, 2 1/2 inch heeled black leather boots, pearl/gold earrings and a dark red handbag or tote. This is the look that I feel confident and comfortable in.
BTW – love your blog!
My signature piece is also a perfume…only I wear “Lovely” by SJP. I’m pretty picky about scents, and this is one of the few that I *LOVE*!!! Other than that, my signature color would have to be RED. I adore anything in red.
I’m excited that I am doing my very first FTF post on my brand new blog! You have inspired me, Fussy, to get with the program and dive into the blogging world! *mwah*
Only one scent I’ve fallen head over heels for and that is Shiseido Relaxing Fragrance. Sadly, it’s hard to find and I’ve never found anything similar.
I change my earrings every day, but they are all dangly but dainty silver and beaded jobs. They are a personal signature, as all were chosen and given by my husband or young children. So many great memories… and they know my tastes perfectly.
Signature colors – black and/or purple – can’t remember the last time I didn’t wear either of these colours…(I give up) and my 8 year old daughter adores purple too…
Eternity…still wear it (it caught my husband, so I think it is a keeper =)
I love Beautiful. Unfortunately, so did the girl my husband dated in high school. And because I make it a habit not to smell like his long lost loves, I’ve moved on to Jessica McClintock. Love it.
I wore Beautiful for a guzillion years!!! How funny. I love this perfume, however, once I started with infertility treatments and was on hormones – it didn’t go with my chemistry anymore. Bummer. Now, that I’ve had a hysterectomy it still doesn’t mix. Stuff gets really sweet smelling on me so I have to watch it. This is silly, but I’m a freak over Degree Shower Fresh deoderant! Seriously. Love it. Won’t dare use anything else.
My longtime perfume love for YEARS and YEARS was Jessica McClintock…until two years ago when a friend bought me Stella by Stella McCartney. Now I wear that pretty much all the time. I love opening the coat closet and getting a whiff of it on my coat.
My signature piece would definitely be turtlenecks – always turtlenecks in the winter.
And if I don’t have time for full make-up, it’s ALWAYS mascara on the top lashes and some glossy, CO Bigelow cinnamint lipgloss from Bath & Body Works. I have 5 tubes at all times in every coat pocket and every purse I carry. Love it! I love natural, glossy lips! Mwah!
My favorite perfume is Obsession, but DH’s favorite (for me) is Beautiful. I go back and forth between the two. As far as clothing goes, probably my black skirt, with a black tank and some type of blouse over the tank.
Rimmel London Lasting Finish lipstick in Goddess. It’s a sparkly nude with a hint of pink and scented like fruit candy. So yummy! Plus it moisturizes my really dry lips, so I wear it a lot. LOL
My BFF wears Beautiful – so anytime I smell it, I’m always looking around to see if she’s near
I tend to wear perfume as my one “thing” that is nice, even if I’m rocking the ponytail. I had a fragrance evaluation done at Nordstrom’s in Chicago – and it was about a two hour process to pick THE RIGHT perfume for me and my body chemistry. No joke. So now, I am loving Marc Jacobs Pear Splash. It’s actually almost too light for winter, but I still love it even though it’s more of a spring/summer fragrance. Not too heavy – enough to smell put together but not knock people over when I walk into the room.
I fell in love with Vera Wang and bought it to wear on my wedding day. I’ve made a point of wearing it for every important event since, I even spritzed it on before I walked out the door to give birth to my daughter!
Sadly, Matilda doesn’t seem to like it when I wear ANY perfume at all and won’t nurse if I have it on, so I only wear it when I’m going out on a date with hubs.
My personal style is undergoing a major evolution right now with the whole becoming-a-mom thing… I’d like to hurry up and find my new signature before ill-fitting jeans and a pony tail become my mark!
Blech! I can’t stand perfume! And that means on me, other people or walking into a department store! I get physically ill. But to be fair, I can’t stand aftershaves either.
I have a real sensitivity to smells and perfumes just put me under the table. Of course, I work in a retirement community where everyone puts the stuff on by the bottle because they can’t smell it! I can tell who is coming down the hall from half a block away.
Signature look? Pj bottoms, t-shirt and fuzzy slippers (I work from home:-) I know, sexy right?
I’ve never been much of a scent-wearing gal, but DH gave me some Clinique Happy when we were dating, and it’s been mine ever since. I normally only wear it only when going out socially though.
I’ve tried other perfumes, but they just don’t ‘fit’ right…”shrug”
I love Beautiful and wear it in the spring and summer. But Red Door is my favorite for fall and winter — my husband loves it!
I used to have a fall/winter perfume and spring/summer perfume but since the smell is too strong for me when pregnant and my babies seem to dislike nursing if I wear perfume–and for the past five years I’ve either been pregnant or nursing–I can’t even tell you the names of the perfumes sitting on my dresser. Something by J Lo for winter and the summer one is a designer that makes a different limited edition each year (but mine is at least five years old!). Hmmm, I am thinking about weaning my little toddler guy, maybe I have just hit upon a method!
Ooo, I had to comment…
I’ve been wearing Beautiful since the 80’s (used to get it for Christmas along with an E.L. make-up kit for many years), but I can never smell it on me. I cannot count the times I’ve been complimented on my scent and each time it was when I wore Beautiful. So, it basically became my signature perfume because of what others said since it obviously agrees with me chemically. Otherwise, I tend to get positive feedback whenever I wear red, so I guess that is my signature color. I just realized it almost sounds as if I make decisions based on poll results, not unlike a certain President throughout the 90’s – lol!
when i was in college, i started wearing coco by chanel and then i met this boy who liked my perfume… well, the boy is now my sweet husband who still comes up behind me, wraps his arms around me, breathes in deeply and says, “i like your perfume.” why would i stray from that?
