Perspective on Guns in the Potty

Gun in the potty

Oh hai. See that up there? I wake up to the occasional gun in the potty here in the house of happy chaos.

The whole idea of "Mommy Blogging" is a story of balance. It is a story of perspective. Taking a step back to capture a moment and give that moment meaning.

Long days and longer nights as a mom wear me down. Sometimes this little space on the vast web with you make it all so much easier. After almost a thousand people voted for more stories from my life, I am reminded to take that step back not freak out over this stuff and enjoy each day by clinging to the craziness of it all.

When I staggered in the bathroom pre-starbucks-IV-infusion this morning this blog saved the day. I could have very easily flipped out ( YOUBETTERGETINHERE RIGHT. NOW. YOUNG. MAN) but I thought of you. I giggled and grabbed my camera, knowing you would get a kick out of seeing my glamorous morning.

Thank you, Dear Friends of Fussypants, for reminding me to keep my perspective.

speaking2 Perspective on Guns in the Potty

I have good news. The wonderful women behind a Woman Inspired Conference are letting me give away more tickets for my session to my readers. Because the conference is online, they can open it up to so many more women can attend than traditional conferences.

Here is what you can do to get a ticket!

Post a question here in the comment section- Something you want to hear me answer during my session tomorrow.

Then email me (allisonworthington @ gmail.com) your full name, so I can send it to the ticket office. You will get your code via email with details on how to join in!

Much love to you all!

xoxo, alli

Hah! I love that story :) I don’t have any children yet so my muses are simply my ‘ah-hah!’ moments. Learning something new (usually the hard way) makes me want to spread the word. Granted, I’m sure a TON of people will find my new fantastic find old news but I can’t possibly be the last one to figure it out. If I can save one person from learning the hard way…I am happy :)

Question: when and why did you begin to blog? Do you love to Twitter for Twitter sake…is it an effective tool to get your name “out” there? (or both?)
love your Blissfully Domestic post this week. Yes, bloging and reading blogs such as yours helps keep the chaos under control in my house too.

Love it! We have (had) a train in the potty and a potty that doesn’t quite flush right now. Hmmmm… And an odd choo choo sound when it does flush…

I too thank my blog for helping me gain some perspective. It’s definitely helped me parent with a lot more patience.
And I love the missing toilet paper. I’m just sayin’.

I saw the gun in the potty picture and all I could think was that at least you found it in there instead of getting soaked from squirting and finding out how the gun got filled up later in the day. Sometimes keeping your sanity is all about finding the slightly shiny gray lining.

LOL. I never have toilet paper on the holder. The boys spin in all on the floor. I am now keeper of the roll! :)

At least your toilet was clean…I might have had to fish it out, clean it, put it back, and then take the photo. (Not that I would have gone to that much trouble for blog fodder. Nope. Not me.)

I just want to know if one of your boys was filling the gun with potty water? I hope my son never comes up with that idea! Thanks for the story, this is what got me hooked on your blog.

Potty guns…yeah, that happens when you have boys in the house (sigh) and you find a LOT of other things in there too that are not supposed to be there.
