Tea Party Time!

Revelution is brewing Did you go to a Tea Party yesterday?

I was pleased to see a huge crowd of families all having fun. I talked to a woman who was a self described "old hippie who burned my bra in Greenwich Village" she then told me that she hasn't worn one since! Hello TMI?

And I talked to a guy who is a Democrat, loves Obama, but hates all the excessive spending and talked my ear off about coming hyperinflation.  He talked to me about how when a government prints tons of money it will all "hit" the market months later and lessen the value of the dollar. This of course sends prices sky high.

My sweet 10 year old, Justin, came along with the baby and I. He even had his picture taken for the local newspaper and a quick interview. I was relieved he really knew what he was talking about! {Makes Mamma Proud!}

Here I am-

Alli Tea party Day

and my big guy-

J says Happy teaparty day

Did you go to a party? If so tell me about it or link to a post about it in the comments. :)

*If you did not go and hate everything about them, please don't write ugly things in my comment section. I will have to delete those. It hurts my feelings and it is tacky.

Love Y'all,
Alli

I went briefly to the one here in Indy and I have to say I was smiling ear to ear seeing all the families so involved.
It was wonderful! And so entertaining to read all the creative signs and see the people in costumes.
My 5 yr old son asked my husband what was going on and my husband told him that people were tired of other people spending all their money. My five year responded, “Why don’t they just go to work and ake their own money like we do?” I love that kid!

Hi, Alli, we went to ours in B’ham. Posted about it here: http://southernhospitality-rhoda.blogspot.com/2009/04/tea-party-in-birmingham.html
Of course, my hubby’s t-shirt got a few on my blog comments riled up, so I guess I should have expected that. What can I say, he’s outspoken! :) Glad we went!

When I emailed you back last night from my iphone, I was surrounded by 4998 tea party people! It was amazing and fun and very American. I was proud to participate. I blogged about it today, as I do most of the things in my life. I’ve been deleting tacky comments all day and losing Twitter followers quicker than I can type. I’m not going to change who I am. I’m glad you’re not either.

I went to the one here in Orlando and made a video! I interviewed a couple of Mom’s who shared the same sentiment you expressed.
It was a historic day and I pray Washington DC took note.

DH went to ours. There were about 200 people there, but it’s a very small town & was a badly advertised party. I’m on vacation, there were 2000 people at the one here.

We didn’t go to ours – we went to the one in Fresno where there were 7500 people! Our big family and our big dog (A European lab wearing a sign that said, “please don’t redistribute my treats”) attracted more attention than I like, lol.
Loved the feeling of community!

Good thing I happen to like tea because I hit two Tea Parties yesterday (Nashville at noon & Murfreesboro in the evening)! Excellent turnout at both. It felt so good to be surrounded by fellow Americans who really “get it” about the toll that too much taxing and wasteful spending and crushing debt is going to take on us — all brought on by an out-of-control Government who have been ignoring and/or dismissing our pleas to listen to us and stop the madness! By the way, LOVED your sign Alli!

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to make the only one local to us – which didn’t have that great of a turnout anyway :(
Wondering if I can borrow your Revolution Is Brewing button for my blog if I link it back to you?

Here’s the thing, I LOVE it when people care enough to peacefully let the government know what they want changed in a coordinated way. Even if I don’t agree with someone’s politics, I LOVE this country so much for the fact that we can raise our voices with our different points of view. As someone who didn’t attend a tea party, they represent to me a coordinated raising of respectful voices, ensuring another point of view is heard. I look forward to seeing how the conversation progresses as a result.

That is fantastic. I am so glad to know you… I went to our tea party in Knoxville also.

We went to our nearest Tea Party. Even here in the “Liberal Land” known as the Bay Area of California there were tons of people out. It was GREAT!

I didn’t make it to one myself — although hubby — who’s working in Memphis now — said there were like 10,000 people at theirs. Woo-hoo!

My four and I went to a little mini tea party at an offramp after the main event.
We had a good time.
